Caroline grew up in Kentfield, where she became a top ranked junior tennis player. She went on to compete at the collegiate and professional level. Before launching her real estate career, Caroline was a successful business owner and award-winning national sales representative. Caroline and her husband Chris have three children, Kyle, Liam and Gavin. Giving back to her community is a priority, and she participates in a variety of networks focused on quality of life, at-risk children, and other vital community issues. She is a founding member of Junior Marin Charitable, a Marin Community Fund supporter, former Co-Director of the Southern Marin Mother's Club and a volunteer for her children's public school.
Caroline attended the University of California at Berkeley and the University of Virginia in Charlottesville and holds a B.A. in English Language & Literature. She is a member of the National Association of Realtors, the California Association of Realtors, Marin Association of Realtors, Women's Council of Realtors, Top Agent Network (membership is exclusive to only the top performing Realtors in Marin County) and she holds a certification as a Bay Area Historic Property Specialist and as a Relocation Specialist. She was recently featured on HGTV's #1 television show, House Hunters.
Chris Nelson

Chris Nelson has been a licensed real estate professional in Marin County for over 17 years, a resident since 1999 and is a Bay Area Native, born and raised in Oakland and San Francisco. He lives in San Anselmo with his wife Caroline and their three sons. Chris has been involved in many aspects of real estate, initially working on real estate development and property re-use projects at The Presidio Trust in San Francisco, transforming the former Army Base into a National Park. He went on to work on numerous other large land redevelopment and brownfields projects in the Bay Area, gaining valuable negotiation, land and property valuation and real estate transactional expertise.
Chris joined his wife and business partner, Caroline Nelson, in 2016 when they formed The Nelson Group, Inc. Working within Compass, they are a potent team; Caroline has been a top producing Luxury Real Estate Specialist in Marin County for 18 years, and Chris brings diverse real estate development and property re-use expertise. Chris helped grow The Nelson Group to a record year for the firm - $33+ Million in Sales in 2021. He leads marketing and advertising efforts for the group, project manages myriad service providers, launched new platforms for The Nelson Group on social media and has worked diligently to build a strong brand identity for the firm. Together, they deliver consistently top notch results for their clients and they are proud to be recognized as an elite group of Top Producers for Pacific Union and Compass in Marin County for 2017 and Compass for 2018.
Chris holds a B.S. in Environmental Science from the University of California at Berkeley. He has been a member of the Urban Land Institute, San Francisco Chapter; he was on the Brownfields Committee of the California Redevelopment Association and has been a President and Board Member of the Almonte Sanitary District in Mill Valley. Chris is an avid cyclist; he was on the Cal Cycling team, he continues to be an active rider, and has participated in numerous competitions. He also co-head coaches the Archie Williams (Drake) High School Mountain Bike Team in San Anselmo, an 8 time State and 10 time league champion High School Racing Program.
